Its strong market position is founded on long tradition and experience in the textile sector: Founded in 1862 as a ropeworks, the fast growing workshop became the Seilerwarenfabrik AG of Lenzburg in 1919 and later the Arova-Mammut AG. In March 2000 the Rope and Lifting Technology division was transfered to Mammut tec AG as an independent company with locations in Switzerland and Hungary.
